Charlotte's morning church outfit. Turns out another little baby in the nursery was wearing the same dress. Steeler Nation!! (sorry for the poor quality--we were in a hurry!!)

Giggles Part 2
Back by popular demand is another video of Charlotte's giggles. This was recorded a few weeks ago, and is just as (if not more) cute as the other! (If I do say so myself). These giggle episodes are far and few between, so when she starts laughing I immediately have to grab the camera. Enjoy and happy weekend!!

Just Sayin'
This is Zack Wahls. He has two Moms, and has turned out just fine. This was his speech before the Iowa State house this week as they deliberate on a vote to ban both marriage equality and civil unions. I love the title of this video, because that is exactly it. Zack is talking about his family. Families come in all different forms, and who's to say what and how your family should be made up of? At only 19, he speaks with more heart and pride than most 50 year olds I know. And people say gay marriage effects children? Not this kid.

Starting Solids
This morning Charlotte had her first taste of rice cereal! I thought for sure she would hate it, because every time I've given her vitamins or Tylenol she has made an icky face and turned away. But I guess rice cereal is much more bland than the others and she actually swallowed a few bites! I know some people say to wait until they are 6 months, but our pediatrician gave the go-ahead and she is definitely ready for solids. Besides the fact she is in the 95% for weight...she is very strong and can almost sit up on her own. She also definitely seems interested in what we are eating and opens and closes her mouth when she watches us eat. Soo...I figure let's go for it! I am still back and forth about when to start her on veggies and fruits. I may wait a few weeks until she is 5 months, or maybe we will try it next week. Any suggestions?
Last night Andrew worked until 9, so he didn't get to see Charlotte at all yesterday. Some mornings we get her up before he leaves so he can spend a little time with her, but she is usually sleeping when he comes home. After being with her all day long myself, I honestly MISS HER by the time 10 or 11pm rolls around. Addicted?? I will usually go in and hold her and rock her for a few minutes. I know this disrupts her sleep but I can't help it! Andrew says he is going to submit me to Intervention ha! But now that he is working so late..he misses her too, so we both got a chance to cuddle with our sleeping angel last night.

Charlotte and I are off to our first Gymboree class today. Hopefully she (I) likes it! Have a great day everyone!

Chatty Charlotte
Today Charlotte and I went to a new Mommy group and met a lot of great women and babies. I think she was a little overwhelmed seeing all the babies (age ranging from 2.5 weeks-a year). She is used to only pretty much being with me and Andrew or 1 or 2 other people! She was very quiet, and even took a nap there. It was a lot of fun. When we got home I put her down on her lounger for a bit while I made my lunch, and turned on Sesame Street. Elmo was on and she was talking SO loud, I had to get it on video. She normally just "talks" in her crib, or blows bubbles but it really sounded like she was going to have a full blown conversation! Before I turned the camera on I went over to see if she would talk to me...and nothing. She looked at me like, "Go away Mom, I'm talking to my friend Elmo."
I should probably mention (or not...) that after this video I took her back for a nap, and realized she had had a huge blow out in her diaper, and alllll up her back. Maybe she was trying to tell me something??
